We couldn't fail to miss Karen in NY's Soho. She was in town for the art shows and a spot of shopping. You'd never guess it, but she's an attorney and retired ballerina now living in Detroit. She pulls together her look with Prada and Marni in such an eclectic way, some might say it's a kind of mounty-chic! Karen loves NY for its art and culture, and there's a lot of it packed into that small island! She knew she would do plenty of walking today, and it's the best way to see Manhattan, so she chose comfortable shoes and built her outfit around that choice. Though originally she had something else in mind, the shoes were not appropriate for the day's activities. This outfit is so great we can only imagine the other look! @karenbacon5800

We just had to snap content creator and brand strategist Jumaine. He was wearing one of spring's standout looks in his plastic fantastic coat. He was on his way to a fundraiser in New York's Soho that day. A closer look at his Instagram revealed a man with exceptional personal style and a penchant for hats and beautiful interiors, all of which regularly feature in his Instagram posts. He explained that his fashion inspiration comes from living in Japan with a signature of ' keep it simple but polished'. He enjoys spending time in Soho but prefers Brooklyn for its culture and diversity. Jumaine's Instagram has another enduring theme, with messages of about positivity and authenticity; one of which stood out to us; 'have you ever wondered why most people tend to think the same, act the same, judge the same and just do about everything the same? I’m like where is the authenticity, the you, the me. Your own personality your own style your own being. To be honest, it’s so much more exciting when you are your own person. You will not fit in, but nothing sweeter than standing out.' We couldn't agree more Jumaine! @richie_rich_for_life

Claire is from Cali and raised in the Dominican Republic, but we spotted her on the streets of New York. She's an Ad Executive but shuns the power suits for a more relaxed style like this boho jacket and Stan Smiths. The jacket has a west coast air that would look in place on Haight Ashbury, no wonder because Claire's style inspiration is her mum, who's 'such a hippie', she said. She loves the vibrancy of the Big Apple, 'it's alive and it's moments like this that truly attest to it', she said. She obviously loves her Manhattan home, but we bet she's sometimes California Dreamin'.

We couldn't fail to miss Stacie in that coat! She stopped to chat with us in Nolita where she was having brunch with her friend Chloe. She explained that she is originally from Kansas and has also lived in beautiful Florence. Lucky! At the moment she is based in Harlem although Fort Greene Brooklyn is where she would prefer to be. That coat is from her great Aunt, whose wardrobe we'd also love to see! As for her style; she likes vintage, clothes from Dover St. market and dresses according to her day. We had a look on Instagram to find out more. As we can see, from her blog entitled 'power suits and playdates' she never sits still - when she's not working as CEO of 'the best company on the planet', style site KEEP she's busy with her two children and generally enjoying life! We love her T-shirt emblazoned with 'May your life be as awesome as you pretend it is on Instagram', Mission accomplished Stacie! @stacie64130

We love Meg's trans-seasonal layering. We literally spotted her in the street, walking in the middle of it in New York's Nolita area. Meg lives around the corner and was taking a stroll to do some shopping. 'It's all about comfort, she said, this look started with the overalls.' She's a design editor, and from her Instagram feed, we can see that she loves experimenting with style mixing the unexpected like hoodies and vintage bags. She loves to push her boundaries whether in life or style. We love her unique take, so of course, we followed her! She quoted the American poet Emily Dickenson 'if your Nerve, deny you, go above your Nerve.' We could not have summed up Meg more perfectly! @megbusacca

Model and fashion student Alexia lives in New York where we captured her, and like that, she struck a pose for us. She’s originally from Brazil, but her real love is Paris. ‘Most of my inspiration when it comes to styling I've taken from Paris, the city I most love, she said. ‘I also speak French.’ We agree she is très chic in her Gloria Coehlo flares and that classic coat by A.P.C. She also explained that she is passionate about art and of course fashion. We can picture her strolling down Rue Saint Honoré! Victor Hugo felt the same way about the city of love; he said, “He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo, nothing is more fantastic, nothing is more tragic, nothing is more sublime.” For now, Alexia may have an abode in the lower east side but she'll always have Paris! @alexiabellini

We stopped Haya in the FIDI area of New York; she told us she was headed to a pool party in Brooklyn. Haya works for a company that builds e-commerce websites. But she has another very honourable project in the pipeline: I'm going to launch my own fashion website next month called "ShopHaya.com". The message behind my website is using fashion as a vehicle. By having unique style in order to make a difference. I hope it will become an educational resource by creating awareness of the difficulties faced by fashion industry workers around the world especially in China, Cambodia etc and to offer them safe working conditions and representation. I hope to raise awareness and donate money from the profit of my website to give it to a beneficial organization. I'm so excited for this project and have this platform to aid women to make better choices and be part of a positive message.' Haya we salute you! When we asked her about her outfit she elaborated telling us, 'I want to look feminine, yet badass!' We love the contrast of that D&G top and those I am Gia pants. Mission accomplished Haya, you are badass in more ways than one! @haya.knyc

We spotted Beth in Nolita while she was searching for a new apartment. She is focusing on staying in Nolita because it is vibrant with great restaurants and shopping. When we asked about her outfit, she replied, 'I am my inspiration, today's look is some crap that I pulled together from my closet'. She must be one of the coolest nannies in NYC. Beth, we love your attitude, we're guessing you're the kids' muse too! @bethbarnett

At City Hall Park Marie's contrasting tulle skirt and leather jacket caught our eye, along with the Rebecca Minkoff pearl-studded biker boots that lent her look edgy femininity. She was visiting from Berlin and had just walked across Brooklyn Bridge where the wind stole her hat! Marie was staying in a hotel in Central Park but had ventured downtown to see the sights. Rumi said, of loss, 'don't grieve anything you lose comes around in another form', maybe Marie will find it up in the shops of Soho! @marie_theres_marie

We spotted Yeva rushing down Canal Street; she was running late to her job as a model for the Dolce Couture show. She is signed to Elite models and has walked on catwalks all over the world. Yeva told us that she didn't like her current accommodation or the Tribeca area, then she saw an empty cab, and in a flash of yellow, she was gone - fashion moves fast! @prettycreepy
