We couldn't miss China's style as she strutted the streets of Shanghai. She chose her own name, "it is a female name, so why not!", she said. She's been living in Shanghai for a few years and is studying to be to be a Gemologist joining the program launch by GIA from 2012 in Jiaotong University. She's obviously a gem herself because they are a very selective group, choosing at most 10 people each year. We were fortunate to find China at her friend Chen Ying Jie's “Shaping the Essence” opening, at Danysz Gallery in Shanghai; he's a very talented Chinese painter, curated by Magda Danysz who has galleries in Paris, Shanghai and London. China looked like a work of art herself in those amazing Fenty Puma pants by Rihanna and the full-length gloves by Fussed (Japan). No wonder her Instagram has 18k followers so far! @heirofthedragonimblessed

Elaine was a piano player and musician until 10 years ago her husband lured her into the world of fashion. It was love a first site, as the couple now owns one of the leading shops and webshops in China called “StyleOne”. Where initially they only stocked Korean and Japanese brands, they have now broadened their horizons to European labels such as Rejina Pyo Natasha Zinko’s jewellery collections from the UK and Ports61 from Italy as her favourite ones. She's also the mother of two children which motivated her to add brands for parents. We spotted her just outside of her shop in Shanghai and we loved the Balenciaga scarf and the contrast of the distressed denim pants against the glamour of the Hermès bag. It's worldwide style at a one-stop shop rather like us! @elaine_styleone

Jola works for Alvanon, a consultancy agency for apparel and retail, she was attending a private view at a gallery in Shanghai. She's got an eye on upcoming brands; she was wearing a pair of sandals by “I suddenly sneezed” a Chinese label inspired by Japanese culture. The original name was taken from a poem by Shuntarou Tanikawa, likening the fact that explosions of creativity can come at any time! She was also wearing an outfit by the rising star of Chinese design Nichole Zhang. Jola clearly loves to endorse local designers, like a breath of fresh air she's encouraging even more creative blasts -gesundheit! @Jolayola

Liang was wearing 'My little Pony' style when we spotted her out with her friends in Julu Rd. She's part of the new tribe making their mark on the city; young fashion warriors capturing themselves in photos in every corner. We couldn’t help but approach Liang in that playful top and stripy sock combo! It's a very cute look, we wonder if Liang and her friends adhere to the My Little Pony mantra that ‘friendship is magic’?! She was the only one that was daring enough to pose for us but she's used to it; she does some informal photo and live-stream modelling for local bloggers for their online shops. She certainly knows how to strike a pose, she's style queen of the Bronys!

We caught Suo as she was stepping off of her boyfriend’s beautiful electric Vespa in Shanghai. She's studying at fashion university wearing a dress of her own design using jacquard and crushed fabric. We also loved those Fenty x Puma high sock sneakers, part of singer Rihanna's collaboration with the sports brand; now in its second year, it is continually winning acclaim from the likes of Vogue who said Rihanna's shoe designs are always a step ahead. We wonder if Suo has such forward-thinking aspirations for her design career, perhaps the go-faster stripes on those socks might help, especially on that Vespa!
