More Than Clothes
Aleksander is from Norway. We caught him as he was on his way to the airport back to Oslo. He was here to visit a designer friend, Ambrose who had his final show at Graduate fashion week. They both began their fashion studies at the same time and have followed and encouraged each other ever since. Aleksander was really proud of Ambrose's achievements as he was nominated for Best Design. He was also keen to tell us about the how things are changing in Olso in terms of fashion, "more investment is going into young designers and there is an excitement that hasn’t been there for years", he said. He cited Alexander Mcqueen as his inspiration, “he is the one that showed me that fashion could be more than just clothes” When we asked him about the stripey suit he described them as pyjamas, we see what you mean Aleksander, an outfit can be many things! @aleksandersahr

West Coast Girl
We spotted Christine while she was out shopping in Soho. Christine is a student visiting from LA; she loves New York’s fashionable shopping destinations. Her favourite brand is Rag & Bone. Accustomed to the warm West Coast weather and fearful of New York’s seasonal chilliness, she assumed it would be very cold that day. Instead, the sun was shining brighter than ever and, although Christine was very hot, she refused to take off her jacket as it was essential to her outfit. As she put it, “that’s sometimes the price we pay for fashion”. Christine loves using her style to express herself and to show off her personality; to us, this outfit shows that nothing will affect Christine’s mindset or the way she chooses to dress, not even the weather! @itschristine.gzx

Le Flâneur
Guillaume brought some sunshine to Rue de Grenelle with that jacket. He's from New York but in Paris to study at the Institute of Political Science. What he likes most in this city is to practice the long-honed art of "La Flânerie", meaning to stroll around with much attention to the art of voyeurism or people watching. The Parisians with their cafe-lined streets are experts at it; poets and artists have long sat glancing and passing comment on passers-by. As for Guillaume, he also likes to have his head in a book, he's reading "Voyage au bout de la nuit" by Céline F. Whether reading or strolling, with his jacket du jour perhaps it was Guillaume's intention to be the object of some Flânerie himself! @guillaumetonnel
